Calgary road closures - March 25, 2015
Update: Eastbound Memorial Drive N.E. at 9 Street N.E. will be reduced to one-lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. This closure accommodates utility repair.
21 Avenue N.E. will be closed between Centre Street N.E. and 1 Street N.E. beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25. This closure will remain in place until 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 and will accommodate the installation of new services.
The left-turn bay on westbound 16 Avenue N.E. at Edmonton Trail N.E. will be closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Sunday, March 22. This closure will continue nightly between these hours until Friday, March 27 and accommodates utility work.
The centre lane in all directions at Olympic Way S.E. and 11 Avenue S.E. are closed beginning 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16. The closure will remain in place until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15 and will accommodate utility work.
Various lane closures on Saddletowne Circle N.E. at Martindale Drive N.E. will occur daily, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Monday, March 16. These closures will continue during these hours until Monday, March 30 and will accommodate the installation of new utilities.
NEW: Kensington Road N.W. will be reduced to a single lane in each direction at 18 Street N.W. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 26.This closure accommodates utility work.
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail N.W. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of March due to utility work.
ALERT: Centre Street South between 17 Avenue and 18 Avenue is closed. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes. This closure will remain in place until further notice.
NEW: Eastbound Glenmore trail east of Ogden Road S.E. / Shepard Road S.E. will be reduced to a single left lane between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. This closure accommodates urgent CN Railway repairs.
NEW: 51 Street S.E. between 77 Avenue S.E. and 80 Avenue S.E. is closed beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. The closure will remain in place until 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 29 and accommodates construction.
Auburn Meadows Avenue S.E. between 52 Street S.E. and Auburn Meadows Way S.E. will be closed between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25. Traffic will be detoured to Auburn Bay Drive S.E. and Auburn Meadows Drive S.E. as this closure accommodates concrete work.
3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 9 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to single two-way traffic beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 19. This closure will remain in place until 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 29 and accommodates utility work.
The southbound lanes of 3 Street S.E. at 6 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays beginning Thursday, March 19. This closure will also affect the two-way traffic setup on 3 Avenue S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 9 Avenue S.E., which will be designated as northbound only during this time. This closure will remain in place until Friday, March 27 and will accommodate the evening commute.
The shoulder on westbound Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE is closed until the end of March, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. This section of Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.
4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.
Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
