Calgary road closures - March 20, 2014

Northeast

Southbound 36 Street N.E. will be closed south of Airport Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Wednesday, March 19 to Friday, March 21. Staff will be onsite to direct alternating traffic in the northbound lanes.

Westbound Airport Trail N.E. will be closed between 19 Street N.E. and Deerfoot Trail N.E. from midnight on Monday, March 24 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25 for sign installation.

Eastbound Airport Trail east of Deerfoot Trail will be reduced to one lane during this time, and westbound traffic will be detoured to Country Hills Boulevard N.E.

Northwest

Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Crowchild Trail and 16 Street N.W. from Wednesday, March 19 to Thursday, May 15 due to riverbank restoration. On weekdays lane restrictions will be in effect daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on weekends daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Southeast

There will be various lane closures at Macleod Trail and 36 Avenue S.E./Mission Road from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 due to utility work.

68 Street S.E. will be closed between 86 Avenue S.E. and 90 Avenue S.E. until noon on Friday, March 21 due to emergency Water Services work. Motorists are advised to use 64 Street S.E.

There will be series of periodic road closures on 3 Street S.E. between 51 Avenue S.E. and 53 Avenue S.E., from 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 20 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 due to utility work. Traffic will be detoured to 4 Street S.E. Local business access will be maintained.

There will be various right lane closures on westbound 50 Avenue S.E. between 52 Street S.E. and Barlow Trail from Saturday, March 22 to Sunday, March 23 due to construction. Speed will be reduced to 50 km/h here from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

54 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 48 Street S.E. and 52 Street S.E. from 9 a.m. on Friday, March 21 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 due to utility work.  Motorists are advised to use 61 Avenue S.E. as an alternative.

Southwest

26 Avenue S.W. is closed between 18 Street S.W. and 19 Street S.W. until 6 p.m. on Friday, March 21 due to a water main break.

37 Street S.W. will be closed between Bow Trail to 5 Avenue S.W. from 6 p.m. on Friday, March 21 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 due to utility work.

5 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 5 Street S.W. and 6 Street S.W. from 6 p.m. on Friday, March 21 to 5 a.m. on Monday, March 24 due to utility work.

4 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 14 Avenue S.W. from 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 due to utility work. At this time 14 Avenue S.W. will be closed west of 4 Street S.W. and the sidewalks on the west side of 4 Street will be closed.
