Calgary road closures - March 18, 2014
Northeast
Southbound 36 Street N.E. will be closed south of Airport Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Wednesday, March 19 to Friday, March 21. Staff will be onsite to direct alternating traffic in the northbound lanes.
Westbound Airport Trail N.E. will be closed between 19 Street N.E. and Deerfoot Trail N.E. from midnight on Monday, March 24 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25 for sign installation.
Eastbound Airport Trail east of Deerfoot Trail will be reduced to one lane during this time, and westbound traffic will be detoured to Country Hills Boulevard N.E.
Northwest
Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Crowchild Trail and 16 Street N.W. from Wednesday, March 19 to Thursday, May 15 due to riverbank restoration. On weekdays lane restrictions will be in effect daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on weekends daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Southeast
54 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 48 Street S.E. and 52 Street S.E. from 9 a.m. on Friday, March 21 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 22 due to utility work. Motorists are advised to use 61 Avenue S.E. as an alternative.
Blackfoot Trail north of 34 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 3:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. Thursday, March 20 due to utility work. Crews will be on site to stop all northbound and southbound traffic as required. Speed will be reduced to 50 km/h at this time.
Ogden Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 14 Street S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 due to utility work. Left turns will not be permitted at this time.
6 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 4 Street S.E. and 5 Street S.E. on Tuesday, March 18 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for construction.
The sidewalk will be closed on the north side of 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 4 Street S.E. until 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19 due to building construction.
Southwest
2 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 5 Street S.W. and 6 Street S.W. from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 due to construction. Traffic will be detoured to 3 Avenue S.W.
5 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 5 Street S.W. and 6 Street S.W. from 6 p.m. on Friday, March 21 to 5 a.m. on Monday, March 24 due to utility work.
4 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 14 Avenue S.W. from 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 due to utility work. At this time 14 Avenue S.W. will be closed west of 4 Street S.W. and the sidewalks on the west side of 4 Street will be closed.
