Northeast

NEW: There will be no parking on Falshire Drive N.E. between Falton Drive N.E. and Falconridge Boulevard N.E. on Saturday, June 20 between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. to accommodate community clean up.

NEW: The right lane of northbound 69 Street N.E. at Falconridge Drive N.E. will be closed between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. This closure accommodates the community clean up.

NEW: Saddleridge Drive N.E. at Saddle Towne Circle N.E. is closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 20. This closure continues until 3 p.m. on Friday, June 26 and accommodates median installation. Traffic in the area will be detoured.

The right lane of westbound 16 Avenue N.E. west of 1 Street N.E. is closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, June 19. This closure continues the following day from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday June 20 and accommodates water utility work.

The left turn bay of westbound Country Hills Boulveard N.E. at Barlow Trail N.E. will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 19. Traffic in the area will be detoured, and flagmen will be on scene directing traffic. The closure continues until 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 21 and accommodates construction.

Saddletree Drive N.E. between 52 Street N.E. and Saddlecreek Way N.E. will be reduced to a single lane of two-way traffic beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 19. This closure continues until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24 and accommodates the installation of new utilities.

Eastbound and westbound Country Hills Boulevard N.E. has been temporarily realigned between 52 Street N.E. and 60 Street N.E. This alignment continues through 2015.

Northbound right lane of 11 Street N.E. at 64 Avenue N.E. is closed daily between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. until Saturday, July 4. The closure is extended to 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the weekend, but resumes normal hours during the weekdays. This closure accommodates curb rehabilitation.

2 Street N.E. between 5 Avenue N.E. and 9 Avenue N.E. will have various lane closures daily until Monday, June 29 to accommodate utility upgrade work.

Northwest

NEW:  Centre Street N is reduced to a single lane in each direction at 13 Avenue N.W. beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 20. This closure continues until 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 21 and accommodates utility work.

Trans Canada Highway / Bowfort Road N.W. Interchange Project

The right lane of southbound 10 Street N.W. at 2 Avenue N.W. will be closed until the end of June. This closure accommodates construction.

10 Street N.W. and Kensington Road N.W. will experience various lane closures daily between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. until Saturday, June 20 for construction.

Country Hills Boulevard N.W. east of Rocky Ridge Road N.W. will be reduced to a single lane in each direction beginning at 9 a.m. daily until the end of June for road construction.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail N.W. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of June due to utility work.

Southeast

NEW: Southbound 1 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue S.E. and 25 Avenue S.E. will have various multiple lane closures from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 21 and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 21 for paving. The Calgary Police Service will be on site to assist with traffic control as paving crews progress through intersections.  Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.

NEW: Eastbound Glenmore Trail S.E. between Ogden Road S.E. / Shepard Road S.E. and Barlow Trail S.E. will have single lane closures and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 20 to allow for Enmax overhead utility work. Crews will be on site to stop traffic as required, while the overhead lines are moved across roadway.

NEW: Eastbound Glenmore Trail S.E. between Ogden Road S.E. / Shepard Road S.E. and Barlow Trail S.E. will have single lane closures and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 21 to allow for removals of temporary concrete Jersey wall.

The two right lanes and adjacent sidewalk of 6 Avenue S.E. between Centre Street S and 1 Street S.E. are closed between 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. This closure accommodates construction.

Barlow Trail S.E. between 50 Avenue S.E. and 61 Avenue S.E. will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, June 19 until 11:00 p.m. Sunday, June 21 for paving and concrete work. Local traffic will be detoured to 52 Street S.E. via 50 Avenue S.E. and 61 Avenue S.E. to bypass the construction. Alternate routes are recommended as delays are expected.

The shoulder lanes of northbound and southbound Spiller Road S.E. south of 25 Avenue S.E. will be closed daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. until Saturday, June 27 for road construction.

Eastbound 6 Avenue S.E. between 4 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E. is closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 18. Traffic will be detoured at 4 Street S.E. during this closure, which continues until 2 p.m. Friday, June 26. This closure accommodates construction.

Northbound and southbound Barlow Trail S.E., between 50 Avenue S.E. and 61 Avenue S.E., will have the speed limit reduced to 60 km/h until mid-July to allow for preparation of paving. There will be various stages of construction which will have lane closures during weekdays and full road closures on weekends.  Updates will be provided as work progresses.

Victoria Bridge rehabilitation project.

  • Work related to Victoria Bridge re-hab project continues. Alternate routes are recommended as major delays are expected. Macleod Trail S.E. has opened to the first stage Victoria Bridge detour with newly shifted lane marking alignments in the northbound lanes.   • The exit ramp allowing U-turns from southbound 1 Street S.E. to northbound Macleod Trail, north of 25 Avenue S.E. will be closed beginning at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19 until late September.
  • In addition, the regional pathway link to the Macleod Trail bridge deck (Victoria Bridge) will also be closed. Pathway users will be directed to use the 1 Street S.E. link one block to the west.

Glenmore Trail Bridges Rehabilitation Project

  • NEW: Westbound Glenmore Trail S.E. east of Macleod Trail at the Centre Street S / Fairmount Drive S.E. bridge and the L.R.T. bridge will continue to have the two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Saturday, June 20 until Saturday, June 27 to allow for work related to the Glenmore Trail Bridges projects. The speed limit on Glenmore Trail will remain at 50 km/h for the duration of construction.
  • NEW: Eastbound Glenmore Trail S.E. east of Macleod Trail at the Centre Street S / Fairmount Drive S.E. bridge and the L.R.T. bridge will continue to have the two left lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Saturday, June 20 until Saturday, June 27 to allow for work related to the Glenmore Trail Bridges projects. The speed limit on Glenmore Trail will remain at 50 km/h for the duration of construction.
  • NEW: Eastbound Glenmore Trail S.E. west of Deerfoot Trail S.E. at the 11 Street S.E bridge will have various single and multiple lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Monday, June 22 until Wednesday, June 24 to allow for work related to the Glenmore Trail Bridges projects. The speed limit on Glenmore Trail will remain at 50 km/h for the duration of construction.
  • NEW: 11 Street S.E. under Glenmore Trail will continue with various single lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Saturday, June 20 until Saturday, June 27 to allow for work under bridge.
  • Westbound Glenmore Trail S.E. west of Deerfoot Trail S.E. at the 11 Street S.E bridge will have various lanes closures between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly beginning Friday, June 19. This closure continues nightly during these hours until Saturday, June 27 to allow for work related to the Glenmore Trail Bridges projects. The speed limit on Glenmore Trail will remain at 50 km/h for the duration of construction.
  • Eastbound and westbound Glenmore Trail S.E. west of Deerfoot Trail S.E. at the bridge over 11 Street S.E., will have the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 5, and continuing through the 2015 construction season, for work related to the Glenmore Bridges re-hab projects. There will be various stages of construction which will have traffic pattern changes on Glenmore Trail and numerous lane closures on both Glenmore Trail and 11 Street S.E. under Glenmore Trail.  For further information please go to Calgary.ca and search “Glenmore Trail Bridges”.
  • Three bridges on Glenmore Trail east of Macleod Trail and west of Deerfoot Trail, including Glenmore Trail over 11 Street S.E., Glenmore Trail over Fairmount Drive and Glenmore Trail over the CP/LRT tracks, will have various road closures and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 29. This project will continue through the 2015 construction season, for work related to the Glenmore Bridges rehabilitation project.  During construction, there will be various stages which will require traffic pattern changes on Glenmore Trail and numerous lane closures on both Glenmore Trail and Centre Street S / Fairmount Drive S.E. under Glenmore Trail S.E. The two right lanes of 9 Avenue S.W. between 3 Street S.W. and 4 Street S.W. will be closed nightly between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. until further notice. This closure accommodates construction.94 Avenue S.E. between 52 Street S.E. and 60 Street S.E. will be closed until Friday, July 31 for new road construction.

4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until September 30. This closure is for construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Southwest

NEW: The two left lanes of 11 Avenue S.W. are closed between 4 Street S.W. and 6 Street S.W. beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 20. This closure continues until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 21 and accommodates water utility work.

NEW: Various lane closures on both directions of Crowchild Trail S.W. between Memorial Drive S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 21. This closure accommodates bridge deck work.

1 Street S.W. is closed between 6 Avenue S.W. and 8 Avenue S.W. beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19. Traffic in the area will be detoured, and police will be onsite. This closure continues until 5 a.m. on Monday, June 22 and accommodates deep utility work.

A two-way set-up will be in place on 14 Street S.W. south of Anderson Road S.W. until Saturday, June 20 to accommodate construction.

The right lane and adjacent sidewalk of southbound 1 Street S.W. between 4 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W. will be closed daily between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. until Saturday, June 20 for construction.

The right lane of westbound 6 Avenue S.E. between 4 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E. will be closed, and traffic diverted to the eastbound lane, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily until Sunday, June 21. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays in the area. This closure accommodates construction.

The cycle track on 12 Avenue S.E. will be detoured between 3 Street S.E. and Olympic Way S.E. until further notice to accommodate construction.

Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. this summer to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.

Calgary Greek Festival – Friday, June 19 at 12 p.m. to Sunday, June 21 at 8 p.m.

  • Spruce Centre SW (Alley) is closed between Spruce Drive S.W. and Poplar Road S.W.

Elbow Park Summer Solstice Party, Saturday, June 20, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • 39 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 5 Street S.W. and 4A Street S.W.
  • 4A Street S.W. will be closed between 39 Avenue S.W. and 40 Avenue S.W.

Cycle Track Launch Party - Sunday, June 21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • 9 Street S.W. between 12 Avenue S.W. and 13 Avenue S.W. is closed.
  • Motorists are advised to expect police presence and watch for cyclists in the area

Wheels for Wells – Sunday, June 21, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Adult route: Speed reductions to 50 km/hr. on Spruce Meadows Trail S.W. (Hwy 22x) between 24 Street S.W. to 85 Street S.W.
  • Kids route: Watch for cyclists on Bridleridge Heights S.W., 24 Street S.W. to Everridge Drive S.W. onto pathway into Fish Creek Park.
  • All motorists are advised to watch for cyclists and police on location.

Loops for the Troops – Sunday, June 21, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Motorists are advised to watch for runners in the following areas:

  • On the south side of 66 Avenue S.W. between 37 Street S.W. and Crowchild Trail S.W.
  • Crowchild Trail S.W. from 66 Avenue S.W. to North Glenmore Park entrance

Calgary Police Service will be present in the area.
