Unplanned closures

Reduced lanes on westbound Heritage Drive at Macleod Trail S.E. due to emergency utility repairs. This closure is expected to last until the evening of Friday, July 21. During this closure, there is no right turn from westbound Heritage Drive to northbound Macleod Trail S.E. Use alternate routes when possible.

Northeast

NEW: Various reduced lanes northbound and southbound on 52 Street N.E. between Marlborough Drive N.E. and Madigan Drive N.E. and eastbound/westbound on Madigan Drive N.E. approaching 52 Street N.E. beginning on Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m. to Monday, July 24 at 5 a.m. Pedestrian detour will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

NEW: Reduced lanes northbound/southbound on Edmonton Trail N.E. between 32 Avenue N.E. and 35 Avenue N.E. beginning on Friday, July 21 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, July 23 at 6 p.m. Pedestrian detour indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

NEW: Reduced lanes northbound and southbound to a single southbound lane on Centre Street N. between 32 Avenue N.E. and 34 Avenue N.E. beginning on Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, July 23 at 6 p.m. Vehicle and pedestrian detour indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

NEW: Reduced lane northbound on 11 Street N.E. at 53 Avenue N.E. on Monday, July 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

NEW: Reduced lanes eastbound and westbound on Country Hills Boulevard N.E. between Metis Trail N.E. and 52 Street N.E. beginning on Monday, July 24 to Friday, July 28 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closures are to accommodate construction.

NEW: Reduced lanes eastbound Madigan Drive N.E. and 52 Avenue N.E. starting Monday, July 24 at 5 a.m. until Wednesday, July 26 at 5 a.m. Two way traffic on north-side. Closure is to accommodate water main replacement.

NEW: Reduced lanes eastbound 16 Avenue N.E. and 1 Street N.E. on Saturday, July 22 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Closure is to accommodate construction.

NEW: Reduced lanes westbound Memorial Drive N.E. between 68 Street and Madigan Drive N.E. starting Monday, July 24 at 8:30 a.m. until Friday, August 4 at 3:30 p.m. Closure is to accommodate sidewalk installation.

Reduced lanes southbound on Barlow Trail N.E. south of Country Hills Boulevard N.E. and on westbound Country Hills Boulevard N.E. approaching this intersection from Tuesday, July 4 at 9 a.m. to Friday, July 21 at 6 p.m. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lane westbound on Country Hills Boulevard N.E. between Barlow Trail N.E. and 25 Street N.E. beginning on Friday, July 14 to Friday, July 21 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work zone. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lanes eastbound 1725 32 Avenue N.E. starting Thursday, July 13 until Friday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. This work accommodates construction.

Reduced lanes eastbound 16 Avenue at Edmonton Trail N.E. weekdays starting Thursday, July 13 until Friday, August 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This work accommodates construction.

Reduced lane northbound on 52 Street N.E. at Whitehorn Drive N.E. / Temple Drive N.E. beginning on Monday, July 10 to Friday, September 1 on weekdays only daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pedestrian detour will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Various reduced lanes on Country Hills Boulevard N.E. at 52 Street N.E./Cityscape gate N.E. beginning on Monday, July 10 to Friday, July 21 weekdays only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closures are to accommodate utility work.

Reduced lane northbound on 52 Street N.E. at Temple Drive N.E./44 Avenue N.E. beginning on Tuesday, July 4 to Wednesday, August 30 (subject to change) on weekdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced northbound and southbound lanes on Falconridge Boulevard N.E. at Taradale Drive N.E. weekdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 P.M. beginning on Tuesday, June 27 to Thursday, September 7. Pedestrian detour indicated via signage. This closure is to accommodate transit construction work.

Northwest

NEW: Reduced lanes in both directions of 14 Street N.W. between 21 Avenue N.W. and John Laurie Boulevard N.W. beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 21. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and expect delays in the area. This closure continues until 5 a.m. on Monday, July 24 and accommodates paving work.

NEW: The ramp from southbound Sarcee Trail N.W. to westbound 16 Avenue N.W. is closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, July 24. During this closure, traffic will be detoured to 69 Street N.W. This closure continues until 5 a.m. on Monday, August 7 and accommodates road construction.

Road closure on 17 Avenue N.W. between 7 Street N.W. and 8 Street N.E. beginning on Wednesday, July 19 to Friday, July 21 daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Access will be available to local traffic only. Vehicle detour will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lane westbound on 16 Avenue N.W. between University Drive N.W. and Uxbridge Drive beginning on Monday, July 3 to Friday, July 21 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closure is to accommodate construction.

16 Avenue NW / Home Road project

• Reduced lanes eastbound on 16 Avenue N.W. at 29 Street N.W. / Uxbridge Drive N.W. beginning on Monday, April 17 to Friday, July 21 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Note – there will not be a set up on Saturday, July 1 only). Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate construction.

16 Avenue N.W. at 29 Street N.W. / Uxbridge Drive N.W. will see various lane closures until the end of October, 2017 as part of an intersection improvement project.

16 Ave NW / Bowfort Road Interchange Improvements

Southeast

UPDATE: Road closure on 4 Street S.E. at 58 Avenue S.E. with reduced lanes eastbound/westbound on 58 Street S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 5 Street S.E. beginning on Friday, July 28 at 7 p.m. to Monday, July 31 at 5 a.m. 4 Street S.E. will remain open to local traffic only. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

NEW: Reduced lane southbound on Blackfoot Trail S.E. between Ogden Road S.E. and 34 Avenue S.E. on Friday, July 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

NEW: Reduced northbound and southbound lanes on 68 Street S.E. at Applewood Drive S.E. Speed reduced to 50 km/h through work area. Closure is to accommodate traffic signal work.

Road closure on 6 Avenue S.E. between 5 Street S.E. and Confluence Way S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Monday, July 31 at 7 p.m. Vehicle detour will be indicated via signage. Use alternate route and expect delays. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

Road closure on 4 Street S.E. between 58 Avenue S.E. and 60 Avenue S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 8 a.m. to Friday, August 4 at 7 p.m. Access will be available to local traffic only. Vehicle detour indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

Glenmore Trail / Ogden Interchange

• The right lane will be closed on northbound and southbound Ogden Road S.E. at Glenmore Trail S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on Monday, July 17 to Friday, July 21.
• Glenmore Trail S.E. between 18 Street S.E. and Barlow Trail S.E. will be put into the ultimate mainline alignment beginning at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19. The access to eastbound Glenmore Trail S.E. will be closed from Ogden Road S.E. / 24 Street S.E. with traffic detoured to northbound Shepard Road S.E. via 86 Avenue S.E., to re-connect with eastbound Glenmore Trail S.E. on a temporary ramp connection. In addition, there will be no access to Glenmore Trail S.E. from 30 Street S.E. Traffic on 30 Street S.E. will be directed to Barlow Trail S.E. via 72 Avenue S.E. to connect with Glenmore Trail S.E. Glenmore Trail S.E. is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h, that will remain in effect 24/7 for duration of interchange construction.

17 Ave S.E. BRT Project

• Reduced eastbound lane on 17 Avenue S.E. between 28 Street S.E. and 31 Street S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 to Friday, July 21 daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Macleod Trail / 162 Avenue Interchange Project

• There will be various lane closures on southbound Macleod Trail S.E. between Shawnessy Boulevard S.E./ Midlake Boulevard S.E. and 162 Avenue S.E. / Sun Valley Boulevard S.E. daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, July 17 to Friday, July 21.
• There will be various lane closures on northbound Macleod Trail S.E. between 162 Avenue S.E. / Sun Valley Boulevard S.E. and Shawnessy Boulevard S.E. / Midlake Boulevard S.E. daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning on Monday, July 17 to Friday, July 21.
• The right lane will be closed on westbound 162 Avenue S.E. between Macleod Trail S.E. and Shawnessy Boulevard S.E. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, July 17 to Friday, July 21.

210 Avenue S.E. between Sheriff King Street and MacLeod Trail S.E. will be closed until Monday, July 31. This closure accommodates utility work. Please use alternate routes.

Southbound 3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue and 8 Avenue S.E. will be closed until early July. Access to Lot 47 will be available at all times and can only be accessed from 9 Avenue S.E. Please use alternate routes and expect delays. This closure accommodates the 3 Street corridor improvement project.

Southwest

UPDATE: Various reduced lanes on 8 Street S.W. between 8 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Monday, July 24 at 7 a.m. These closures are to accommodate a public art installation on the underpass.

NEW: Road closure on 7 Street S.W. between 17 Avenue S.W. and 18 Avenue S.W. beginning on Saturday, July 22 at 8 a.m. to Sunday, July 23 at 9 p.m. Pedestrian detour indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

NEW: Various reduced lanes eastbound on 5 Avenue S.W. between 9 Street S.W. and 10 Street S.W. beginning on Friday, July 21 at 7 p.m. to Monday, July 24 at 5 a.m. Pedestrian detour will be indicated via signage. This closure is to accommodate utility work.

Various reduced lanes on 5 Street S.W. between 6 Avenue S.W. and 8 Avenue S.W. beginning Monday, July 17 to Friday, July 21 daily from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. Cycle track detour will be indicated via signage. This closure is to accommodate overhead plus fifteen work.

Reduced lanes eastbound and westbound on 17 Avenue S.W. between 8 Street S.W. and 9 Street S.W. beginning on Monday, July 17 to Friday, July 21 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pedestrian detour will be indicated via signage. This closure is to accommodate construction.

17 Avenue S. reconstruction project

• Road closure on 17 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.E. and Macleod Trail S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Tuesday, August 8 at 7 p.m. Access will be open to local traffic only. Vehicle detours will be indicated via signage.
• Road closure on 17 Avenue S.E. between Centre Street S.E. and 1 Street S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Monday, August 14 at 7 p.m. Access will be open to local traffic only. Vehicle detours will be indicated via signage.
• Road closure on 17 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.W. and Centre Street S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Access will be open to local traffic only. Vehicle detours will be indicated via signage.
• 17 Avenue will be closed to traffic between Macleod Trail and Centre Street starting May 19.
