Calgary road closures - January 9, 2015

Northwest

NEW: Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until January 30 due to utility work.

NEW: 10 Street N.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 2 Avenue N.W. from 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 10 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January11 due to utility work.

14 Street N.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 2 Avenue N.W. and 6 Avenue N.W. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 11 due to a water main break.

The ramps from westbound Memorial Drive onto northbound Crowchild Trail will be closed until 6 p.m. on Friday, January 9 due to a water main replacement project.

Shaganappi Trail will be closed between Crowchild Trail and Northland Drive/Dalhousie Drive between 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10 and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday, January 11 due to construction on the Shaganappi Trail Pedestrian Overpass. Motorists are advised to follow all detour signs.

Southeast

NEW: The right lane will be closed on northbound and southbound 52 Street S.E. at 23 Avenue S.E. and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 12 to Friday, January 16 for traffic signal work.

There will be various lane closures on Glenmore Trail between Macleod Trail and Deerfoot Trail from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 11 to accommodate bridge inspections. At this time speed will be reduced to 50 km/h. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes as delays are expected.

There will be lane restrictions on Bonnybrook Bridge until the end of January due to utility work. More details on when the restrictions will be lifted will be provided as they become available.

Eastbound 12 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane at Macleod Trail until Friday, January 9 at 6 p.m.

The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015.

3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the end of January 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.

Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until mid-January, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.

4 Street S.E. is closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the end of January 2015.  This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Southwest

NEW: The intersection of 15 Avenue S.W. and 5 Street S.W. will be closed between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 10 due to traffic signal work.

NEW: The left lanes in both directions on Sarcee Trail will be closed between 17 Avenue S.W. and Richmond Road from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 10 to accommodate LED street lighting installation.

NEW: 5 Street S.W. will be closed between 2 Avenue S.W. and 3 Avenue S.W. from 6 a.m. on Saturday, January 10 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 11 to accommodate +15 construction.

24 Street S.W. will be closed between 17 Avenue S.W. and Crowchild Trail from 7 p.m. on Friday, January 9 to 5 a.m. on Monday, January 12 due to utility work.
