Calgary road closures - January 31, 2014

Northeast

Westbound 49 Avenue N.E. will be closed at Aviation Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Saturday, February 1 to Sunday, February 2 due to utility work. Westbound and eastbound traffic will alternate through the eastbound lane. A flag person will be on site.

Eastbound Memorial Drive will be reduced to two lanes at 9 Street N.E. (Bridgeland LRT station) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, February 3 to Friday, February 28 due to LRT construction.

36 Avenue N.E. will be closed between 5 Street N.E. and Edmonton Trail from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Friday, January 31 to Saturday, February 1 due to utility work.

Centre Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 44 Avenue N.E. from 9 a.m. on Friday, January 31 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 2.

16 Avenue N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Edmonton Trail from 10 p.m. on Saturday, February 1 to 5 a.m. on Sunday February 2.

Edmonton Trail will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 16 Avenue N.E. from 10 p.m. on Saturday, February 1 to 5 a.m. on Sunday February 2.

Northwest

5 Avenue N.W. will be closed between 7 Street N.W. and 9A Street N.W. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Tuesday, January 28 to Friday, January 31 due to utility work.

Southwest

11 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 1 due to building construction.

34 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 19 Street S.W. and 20 Street S.W. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Saturday, February 1 to Sunday, February 2 due to utility work.

5 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 4 Street S.W. and 5 Street S.W. from 6 p.m. on Friday, January 31 to 5 a.m. on Monday, February 3 due to a water main break.

Southeast

52 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 8 Avenue S.E. from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 2 due to utility work. Police will be on site directing traffic.

Westbound Glenmore Trail will be reduced to two lanes and speed restricted to 50 km/h on exit ramp at northbound Crowchild Trail from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1 due to construction.

Northbound Blackfoot Trail will be reduce to two lanes and speed restricted to 50 km/h  north of Southland Drive S.E. from 7 a.m. Saturday, February 1 until 6 p.m. Sunday February 2 due to utility work.

Northbound Blackfoot Trail will be reduced to one lane and speed restricted to 50 km/h at 42 Avenue S.E. from 9 p.m. Friday, January 31 until 5 a.m. Saturday, February 1, due to utility work.  In addition, the left lane will be closed in both directions on 42 Avenue S.E. east of Blackfoot Trail during this same time.

50 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction east of 25 Street S.E. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, February 1 to allow for CN Railway repairs. Traffic will be directed to the north side of 50 Avenue S.E. as crews will be working in the existing eastbound lanes.  CN Flagmen will be on site for train traffic protection.

Southbound 13 Street S.E. will be closed at 8 Avenue S.E. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Tuesday, January 28 to Tuesday, February 4 due to utility work.

Eastbound 17 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane between 19 Street S.E. and Deerfoot Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 20 to Friday, February 14. On Saturdays the lanes will be reduced between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

9 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 4 Street S.E. and 5 Street S.E. from 6 p.m. on Friday, January 31 to 3 p.m. on Monday, February 3 due to utility work.
