Calgary road closures - January 30, 2015

Northeast

NEW: Airport Trail N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Barlow Trail and 36 Street N.E. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily starting Monday, February 2 until Thursday, February 5 due to construction.

Northwest

Extended: Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until January 30 due to utility work.

64 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 4 street N.W. and Travois Crescent from Friday, January 30 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 1 due to utility work.

Southeast

NEW: The right lane will be closed on eastbound Glenmore Trail between Odgen Road and 30 Street S.E. from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1 due to utility work. At this time speed will be reduced to 50 km/h.

Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until the end of February, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.

The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015.

3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the end of January 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.

4 Street S.E. is closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the end of January 2015.  This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Southwest

NEW: 5 Street S.W. will be closed between 12 Avenue S.W. and 13 Avenue S.W. from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 31 due to construction.

NEW: There will be various lane closures on southbound Crowchild Trail at Flanders Avenue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 1 due to construction.

Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
