Calgary road closures - January 14, 2015
Northeast
Left turns will be restricted from southbound Metis Trail onto eastbound Country Hills Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Tuesday, January 13 to Friday, January 16 due to utility work.
Northwest
Kensington Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 11 Street N.W. and 13 Street N.W. from 6 p.m. to midnight, nightly from Tuesday, January 13 to Thursday, January 15 due to utility work.
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until January 30 due to utility work.
Southeast
NEW: The left lane and left turn bays on 52 Street S.E. will be closed at 23 Avenue S.E. from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on Saturday, January 17 and Sunday, January 18 for traffic signal work. At this time speed will be reduced to 50 km/h.
The right lane will be closed on northbound and southbound 52 Street S.E. at 23 Avenue S.E. and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 12 to Friday, January 16 for traffic signal work.
There will be lane restrictions on Bonnybrook Bridge until the end of January due to utility work. More details on when the restrictions will be lifted will be provided as they become available.
The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015.
3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the end of January 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.
Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until mid-January, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.
4 Street S.E. is closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the end of January 2015. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.
Southwest
NEW: Northbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed between 13 Avenue S.W. and 14 Avenue S.W. from 7 a.m. on Thursday, January 15 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 17 due to utility work.
