Calgary road closures - February 6, 2015
NEW: Marlborough Way N.E. between Maryvale Drive N.E and Marlborough Drive N.E. will be closed to public traffic on Friday, February 6 at 8 a.m. The road is closed for work relating to the new condo developments in the area. Transit will be allowed access to a temporary road during the closure. The closure will be in place until Friday, February 13 at 6 p.m.
NEW: Airport Trail N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Barlow Trail and 36 Street N.E. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily starting Monday, February 9 until Thursday, February 12 due to construction.
Northwest
NEW: Westbound John Laurie Boulevard N.W. will be reduced to one lane at Shaganappi Trail N.W. between 9:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7 due to utility work.
Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of February due to utility work.
Southeast
3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the middle of March 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.
4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.
Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until the end of February, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.
The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015.
Southwest
NEW: 33 Avenue S.W. between 14 Street S.W. and 15 Street S.W. will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday, February 6. The road will remain closed until 5 p.m. Monday, February 9 for ATCO utility work.
NEW: Far left westbound lane on 4 Avenue S.W. at 8 Street S.W. has been closed due to emergency utility work until Sunday, February 8.
NEW: Far left northbound lane on 8 Street S.W. after 5 Ave S.W. has been closed due to emergency utility work until Sunday, February 8.
NEW: 11 Avenue will be reduced to one lane between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. on Saturday, February 8 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. due to construction.
Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
