Calgary road closures - February 23, 2015

ALERT: Haddon Road S.W. between Henefer Road S.W. and 94 Avenue S.W. is closed for emergency utility repair. This closure is expected to last until 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 25. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes as delays are expected.

Northeast

NEW: The right lane on northbound Metis Trail will be closed at 128 Avenue N.E. between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily (except Saturdays when restrictions will be in place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) until Wednesday, February 25 due to utility work.

Airport Trail N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Barlow Trail N.E. and 36 Street N.E. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily starting Monday, February 9 until the end of the February due to construction.

Northwest

Update: 14 Street N.W. at 14 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24 due to a water main break. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes as delays are expected.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail N.W. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of February due to utility work.

Southeast

3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the middle of March 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.

4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until the end of February, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.

The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015.

Southwest

101 Street S.W. between Glenmore Trail S.W. and Old Banff Coach Road S.W. will be reduced to a single shared lane of controlled traffic, with the speed limit reduced to 50 km/hr, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends beginning Friday, February 20 until Sunday, March 1 due to utility work.

Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
