Calgary road closures - February 14, 2014

Downtown core closures:

The following closures will be in effect through the afternoon rush hour to accommodate a police investigation:

  • 4 Avenue SE is closed from Macleod Trail to Centre Street
  • 1 Street SE is closed from Riverfront Avenue to 4 Avenue
  • 3 Avenue SE  is closed from 1 Street SE to Centre Street

 

Northwest

Northbound Nosehill Drive will be reduced to one lane at Silver Springs Road N.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Friday, February 21 due to construction.

10 Street N.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 3 Avenue N.W. from 7 a.m. on Saturday, February 15 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 16 due to construction.

Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 9A Street N.W. from 7 a.m. on Saturday, February 15 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 16 due to utility work.

37 Street N.W. will be closed between 5 Avenue N.W. and Bowness Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Tuesday, February 11 to Wednesday, February 19 due to utility work.

Northeast

36 Avenue N.E. will be closed at Edmonton Trail on Saturday, February 15 from 7 a.m. to 7p.m. due to utility work.

Eastbound Memorial Drive will be reduced to two lanes at 9 Street N.E. (Bridgeland LRT station) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, February 3 to Friday, February 28 due to LRT construction.

Southwest

17 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 4 Street S.W. from 7 a.m. on Saturday, February 15 to 5 a.m. on Monday, February 17 due to utility work. Left hand turns will be prohibited.

4 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 17 Avenue S.W. from 7 a.m. on Saturday, February 15 to 5 a.m. on Monday, February 17 due to utility work. Left hand turns will be prohibited

11 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 15 due to building construction.

5 Street S.W. will be closed between 2 Avenue S.W. and 3 Avenue S.W. from 6 a.m. on Saturday, February 15 to 6 a.m. on Sunday, February 16 due to building construction.

5 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to three lanes between Centre Street and 1 Street S.W. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 15 due to building construction.

 

Southeast

There will be various lane closures on Glenmore Trail between Blackfoot Trail and Deerfoot Trail will have various lanes closed from 9 p.m. Thursday, February 13 to 5 a.m. Friday, February 14, to allow for Roads crews to do work. Speed will be reduced to 50 km/h at this time. The Calgary Police service will be on site to assist with traffic control. The use of alternate routes is encouraged as delays are expected.

 

Shepard Road will be reduced to a single shared lane of traffic controlled by a flagman south of 85 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, February 14 to allow for utility installation. Delays are expected. Please use alternate routes.

Eastbound and westbound Glenmore Trail between 18 Street S.E and 31 Street S.E., will have various single lane closures and the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily from Tuesday, February 18 until Friday, February 21 to allow for crews to do road survey work.

24 Street S.E. at 107 Avenue / 18 Street S.E. will be  reduced to one lane in each direction from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Thursday, February 13 to Friday, February 14  and Tuesday, February 18 to Wednesday, February 19 to allow for traffic signal work. 

Northbound Blackfoot Trail will be reduced to one lane at 34 Avenue S.E. from 9 p.m. Thursday, February 13 to 5 a.m. Friday, February 14 due to utility work.  No left turns will be allowed at the intersection during this same time and speed will be reduced to 50 km/h.

Westbound 11 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to two lanes at 3 Street S.E. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily from Thursday, February 13 to Thursday, February 20 due to utility work.

Eastbound 17 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane between 19 Street S.E. and Deerfoot Trail from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, January 20 to Friday, February 14. On Saturdays the lanes will be reduced between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

 

9 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane between 4 Street S.E. and 5 Street S.E. from 9 a.m. on Monday, January 27 to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 14 due to utility work.
