Calgary road closures - February 12, 2015

Northeast

Marlborough Way N.E. between Maryvale Drive N.E and Marlborough Drive N.E. will be limited to two-way traffic beginning on Thursday, February 10. Work continues through Friday on a new condo development.

Airport Trail N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Barlow Trail and 36 Street N.E. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily starting Monday, February 9 until the end of the February due to construction.

 

Northwest

Southbound 10 Street N.W at 2 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Friday, February 13, 2015.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of February due to utility work.

 

Southeast

3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the middle of March 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.

4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until the end of February, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.

The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015.

 

Southwest

NEW: 11 Avenue S.W. between 10 Street S.W. and 11 Street  S.W. will be reduced to a single lane starting Friday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. The closure will remain in place until Sunday, February 15 at 4:00 p.m. This closure will accommodate the dismantling of a crane.

NEW: 101 Street S.W. between Glenmore Trail S.W. and Old Banff Coach Road S.W. will be reduced to a single shared lane of controlled traffic, with the speed limit reduced to 50 km/hr, beginning Friday, February 20. The closure takes place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekday and 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekends. The closure reductions will continue until Sunday, March 1 to allow for Enmax service upgrades.

NEW: 51 Street S.W. at 32 Avenue S.W. will be closed beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 13. The closure lasts until 5 a.m. Tuesday, February 17. This closure will accommodate utility construction.

Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.

 

Special Event

Chinese New Year

2 Avenue S.W. will be closed east of 2 Street S.W. between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday February 15.
