Calgary road closures - December 9, 2013

Southwest

21 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 4 Street S.W. and 5 Street S.W. on Wednesday, December 11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. due to utility work.

Southbound 4 Street S.W. will have a right lane closure at 2 Avenue S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from December 9 to December 13 due to utility work.

Southeast

9 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to two lanes between 1 Street S.E. and Macleod Trail until Wednesday, December 11 at 3 p.m. due to utility work.

Northbound 52 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane at 98 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, December 9 to Friday, December 13 due to utility work.

The speed limit on 53 Avenue S.E. at Blackfoot Trail will be reduced to 60 km/h from 6 a.m. on Monday, December 9 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10 due to construction on adjacent roadways. There will be various stages of construction along 53 Avenue S.E. between Blackfoot Trail and 2 Street S.E. during the months of December and January to allow for gas main upgrades.  Efforts will be made to keep disruption of traffic on Blackfoot Trail to a minimum.

Special Events

27th Annual Lion’s Festival of Lights

14 Street N.W. between 24 Avenue N.W. and Rosehill Drive N.W. will have slow moving traffic nightly until Wednesday, January 8. Motorists should use extra care, be aware of pedestrians and reduce their speed in this area.

Calgary Interfaith Food Bank

Northbound 11 Street S.E. between 46 Avenue S.E. and Highfield Drive S.E. will be reduced by one lane from Monday, December 2 until Monday, December 23 to accommodate extra parking.
