Calgary road closures - December 19, 2014
Hunterview Drive will be closed at 78 Avenue N.W. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 21 due to a water main replacement.
Westbound Glenmore Trail will be reduced to one lane between Deerfoot Trail and Blackfoot Trail from 6 a.m. until noon on Saturday, December 20.
The right lane on Olympic Way S.E. will be closed between 10 Avenue S.E. and 11 Avenue S.E. from 8 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 27 due to utility work.
The right lane and sidewalk will be closed on 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 4 Street S.E. from 8 a.m. on Friday, November 28 until Friday, December 26 due to utility work.
The west sidewalk of 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. is closed for construction until February 2015.
3 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 6 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until the end of January 2015. The sidewalk will also be closed during this time.
Single lane closures will continue on Glenmore Trail west of 18 Street SE until mid-January, to allow for the City of Calgary’s Water Services’ water main upgrade project- under the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail over the Bow River. Glenmore Trail is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 until project is completed.
4 Street S.E. is closed between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until the end of January 2015. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.
6 Avenue will be reduced to one lane on 6 Avenue S.W. between 6 Street S.W. and 8 Street S.W. from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 21 to accommodate building construction.
6 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to two lane between 1 Street S.W. and 2 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Thursday, December 18 to Saturday, December 20 and Monday, December 22.
37th Annual Mac’s Midget International Hockey Tournament
The Max Bell Arena entrance and exit will be limited to right-in and right out traffic onto Barlow Trail S.W. from Friday, December 26 to Thursday, January 1. This is to facilitate traffic flow.
28th Annual Lion’s Festival of Lights
14 Street N.W. between 24 Avenue N.W. and Rosehill Drive N.W. will have slow moving traffic nightly until Tuesday, January 6. Motorists should use extra care, be aware of pedestrians and reduce their speed in this area.
Calgary Interfaith Food Bank
Northbound 11 Street S.E. between 46 Avenue S.E. and Highfield Drive S.E. will be reduced by one lane from Friday, November 28 until Wednesday, December 24.
New Year’s Eve Celebration
From Monday, December 29 at 9 a.m., through Thursday, January 1, the left lane of MacLeod Trail northbound between 7 – 8 Avenue SE will be closed.
On Wednesday, December 31 , MacLeod Trail SE northbound will be closed from 6 p.m. – 3 a.m. at 9 Avenue SE.
