Calgary road closures - December 13, 2013
Northwest
3 Avenue N.W. will be closed between 10 Street N.W. and 10A Street N.W. from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily beginning Thursday, December 12 until Monday, December 16 due to building construction.
Centre Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 43 Avenue N.W. from 9 a.m. on Friday, December 13 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 15 due to utility work.
Eastbound Bowness Road N.W./Memorial Drive west of Crowchild Trail will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2013 and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15 for construction.
Southwest
Southbound 4 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane at 21 Avenue S.W. on Saturday, December 14 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to utility work.
5 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to two lanes between 1 Street S.W. and Centre Street on Saturday, December 14 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to building construction.
Southbound 4 Street S.W. will be closed between 15 Avenue S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. on Saturday, December 14 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, December 15 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for utility work. Northbound 4 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane at this time.
Westbound 17 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane at 4 Street S.W. on Saturday, December 14 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 15 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for utility work.
Centre Street will be closed from 6 Avenue S.W. to 7 Avenue S.W. from Saturday, December 14 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, December 15 at 9 p.m. Northbound traffic is advised to take Macleod Trail for northbound access. Southbound traffic is advised to take either 4 Avenue S.W. or 6 Avenue S.W. for southbound access.
Flanders Avenue S.W. will be closed at Crowchild Trail from 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 14 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 15 due to utility work.
There will be rotating lane closures at 14 Street S.W. and 90 Avenue S.W. on Saturday, December 14 due to traffic signal work. Police will be on scene to direct traffic. For more information please visit the project webpage.
Southbound 4 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane at 21 Avenue S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily from Monday, December 16 to Tuesday, December 17 due to utility work.
Southeast
There will be various single lane closures at the intersection of 24 Street S.E. at 107 Avenue / 18 Street S.E. during off-peak traffic time frames beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, December 13 and continuing for the next several weeks, to allow for intersection upgrades.
Ogden Road will be reduced to one lane at 68 St SE. During this time, workers will be directing traffic through alternating northbound and southbound lane closures. Delays expected.
Left turns will be restricted on 36 Street S.E. at 30 Avenue S.E. on Saturday, December 14 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, December 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. due to utility work. Southbound 36 Street S.E. will be reduced to one lane at this time as well.
Centre Street will be closed between 5 Avenue S.E. and 6 Avenue S.E. on Sunday, December 15 from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. due to utility work.
11 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to two lanes at 3 Street S.E. daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Friday, December 13 to Tuesday, December 17 due to utility work.

8 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street on Friday, December 13 from 6 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Arc Resources Event at Hyatt Hotel
8 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street on Saturday, December 14 from 6 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Operation Backpack 2013
Parking will be restricted on westbound River Front Avenue S.W. at 1 Street S.W. on December 14 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
27th Annual Lion’s Festival of Lights
14 Street N.W. between 24 Avenue N.W. and Rosehill Drive N.W. will have slow moving traffic nightly until Wednesday, January 8. Motorists should use extra care, be aware of pedestrians and reduce their speed in this area.
Calgary Interfaith Food Bank
Northbound 11 Street S.E. between 46 Avenue S.E. and Highfield Drive S.E. will be reduced by one lane from Monday, December 2 until Monday, December 23 to accommodate extra parking.
