Calgary road closures - August 20, 2014
NEW: 22 Avenue N.E. will be closed between Centre Street and 1 Street N.E. from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 21 due to concrete work.
There will be various lane closures on 36 Street N.E. between 16 Avenue N.E. and 32 Avenue N.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily beginning Friday, August 1 until Tuesday, September 5 due to curb rehabilitation and paving.
The intersection of Skyview Ranch Road and 128 Avenue N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Monday, July 28 until September 30 for utility work.
17 Avenue N.E. and 18 Avenue N.E. are closed at Edmonton Trail until late August due to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.
Northbound Crowchild Trail will be reduced to one lane at University Drive N.W. from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly until Sunday, August 31 due to bridge deck repairs.
The right lanes on north and southbound Northland Drive N.W. will be closed throughout the summer due to bike lane improvements and road repaving.
Symons Valley Road is completely closed between 144 Avenue N.W. and Sage Meadow Circle. This closure is expected to last until December 2014. During this time, all heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Shaganappi Trail, and local traffic will be detoured via Sage Hill Drive to 144 Avenue N.W. Visit the webpage for further information.
Westbound Glenmore Trail will be reduced to one lane between 52 Street S.E. and Stoney Trail from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly on Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday August 21 due to paving. At this time the speed will be reduced to 50 km/h.
Burnsland Road S.E. will be closed between 36 Avenue S.E. and 38 A Avenue S.E. from 8 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 due to LRT work.
There will be various lane closures on Cushing Bridge (17 Avenue S.E. between 19 Street S.E. and Deerfoot Trail) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly beginning Tuesday, August 5 until Friday, August 22 due to bridge rehabilitation work. At this time speed in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h.
Westbound 130 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 52 Street S.E. and Copperpond Boulevard S.E. until Thursday, September 18 due to major utility work. The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h. Residents are advised to use McIvor Boulevard S.E. to 52 Street S.E.
There are various lane closures on 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E. until the end of August. There are also various closures on 6 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue and 6 Avenue S.E. for East Village construction.
NEW: 15 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction between 12 Street S.W. and 11 Street S.W. from 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 21 to 5 a.m. in Friday, August 22 due to utility work.
Extended: The right lane on southbound 52 Street S.E. will be closed south of Peigan Trail from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily on Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22 due to work related to the Peigan Trail extension project. At this time speed will be reduced to 50 km/h.
The left lane on 4 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 2 Street S.W. and 1 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily beginning Monday, August 18 until Friday, August 29 and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 due to building construction.
There will be various lane closures on eastbound Glenmore Trail between 37 Street S.W. and Sarcee Trail from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly beginning Tuesday, August 12 to Friday, August 22 due to maintenance work.
There will be various lane closures on Elbow Drive between 5 Street S.W. and 36 Avenue S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Friday, August 22 due to paving.
The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.
Shaw Charity Classic
The following roads will be closed from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31:
- 14 Street S.W. from Anderson Raod to the intersection of Canyon Meadows Drive and Elbow Drive.
- Residential access will be maintained.
- Spectators are advised to take public transit and/or the shuttle service, which will pickup at the Anderson CTrain station and at Mount Royal University.
- Parking will be restricted in residential areas.
- There is no public parking on the event site.
- Visitors are advised to use public transit.
