Calgary road closures - April 2, 2015

ALERT: Southbound Haddon Road S.W. at Southland Drive S.W. is closed due to emergency water main break. A two-way traffic setup is in place in the northbound lanes. This closure is expected to remain in place until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 10.

Northeast

St. Georges Drive N.E. will be reduced to single lanes in each direction at 12 Street N.E. beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 1. The closure remains in place until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15 and accommodates utility work.

The centre lane in all directions at Olympic Way S.E. and 11 Avenue S.E. are closed beginning 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16. The closure will remain in place until 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15 and will accommodate utility work.

Northwest

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will have one left lane closed between 1 Street N.W. and 4 Street N.W. beginning at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 2. This closure will remain in place until 5 a.m. on Friday, April 3 and accommodates utility work.

Southbound 10 Street N.W. at 2 Avenue N.W. is reduced to a single left lane. This closure remains in place until the end of April and accommodates new development construction.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will have one left lane closed between 4 Street N.W. and 10 Street N.W. beginning at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1. This closure will remain in place until 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 2 and accommodates utility work.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail N.W. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of April due to utility work.

Southeast

NEW: 12 Street N.E. between Zoo Road N.E. and 8 Avenue S.E.is closed between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. This closure will accommodate repairs to the St. George’s Bridge. Traffic will not be able to access Inglewood from Memorial Drive N.E. and are advised to use alternate routes.

NEW: Southbound Bow Bottom Trail S.E. between 137 Avenue S.E. and 146 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to a single lane beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 6. This closure remains in place until 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 12 and accommodates water service utility work.

NEW: 3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue S.E. and 9 Avenue S.E. will be reduced closed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. This closure accommodates utility work.

Update: 3 Street S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 9 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to single two-way traffic beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 5. This closure will remain in place until 6 p.m. on Friday, April 10 and accommodates utility work.

Update: The southbound lanes of 3 Street S.E. at 6 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays beginning Sunday, April 5. This closure will also affect the two-way traffic setup on 3 Avenue S.E. between 7 Avenue S.E. and 9 Avenue S.E., which will be designated as northbound only during this time. This closure will remain in place until Friday, April 10 and will accommodate the evening commute.

36 Avenue S.E. between Macleod Trail S and Manchester Road S.E. is closed beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2. This closure remains in place until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 6 and accommodates Transit utility work.

Northbound Burnsland Road S.E. between 36 Avenue S.E. and 38A Avenue S.E.is closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31. This closure will remain in place until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 6 and will accommodate Transit construction.

Westbound lane closures resume across the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail S.E. over the Bow River, west of 18 Street S.E. beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 30. A single westbound left lane closure and 60 km/hr speed reduction will be in place 24/7 and multiple westbound lane closures will occur during evenings and weekends. Eastbound lane closures will no longer be required. This work will continue throughout the month of April and accommodates water services utility work.

4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Southwest

Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
