Calgary road closures - April 15, 2015

ALERT: Beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, Carmacks crews will be performing street cleaning on various sections of Deerfoot Trail. This work will be ongoing Sunday, April 12 through Thursday, April 16.

Northeast

Update: The right lane of northbound Metis Trail N.E. north of Country Hills Boulevard N.E. is closed and speed is reduced to 50 km/hr. beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14. There will be intermittent closures on Metis Trail N.E. throughout the week until 3 p.m. on Monday, April 20 and accommodates utility work.

Update: Northbound Edmonton Trail N.E. is reduced to a single lane of traffic at 4 Avenue N.E. beginning 9 a.m. on Monday, April 13. This closure will remain in place until 3 p.m. on Friday, April 22 and accommodates construction.

9 Street N.E. at McPherson Road N.E. is closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 13. McDougall Road N.E. between 9 Street N.E. and 9A Street N.E. is also closed. Detour signage will be set up in the area. This closure remains in place until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 17 and accommodates construction.

Northwest

Southbound 10 Street N.W. at 2 Avenue N.W. is reduced to a single left lane. This closure remains in place until the end of April and accommodates new development construction.

Eastbound 16 Avenue N.W. will be reduced to one lane east of Sarcee Trail N.W. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on weekdays until the end of April due to utility work.

Southeast

Westbound Glenmore Trail S.E. west of Ogden Road S.E. / Shepard Road S.E. will be closed to allow for utility installations between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly beginning Wednesday, April 15. This closure remains in place during these hours until Saturday, April 16 at 5 a.m. Traffic will be directed to the south side of Glenmore Trail S.E. and reduced to a single-lane in each direction with a speed reduction to 50 km/hr. In addition, no left turns will be allowed from either direction of Glenmore Trail S.E. onto Ogden Road S.E. / Shepard Road S.E. during this time. Alternate routes are recommended, and motorists are advised to expect delays.

Southbound Bow Bottom Trail S.E. between 137 Avenue S.E. and 146 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to a single lane beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 6. This closure remains in place until 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 19 and accommodates water service utility work.

Westbound lane closures resume across the Graves Bridge on Glenmore Trail S.E. over the Bow River, west of 18 Street S.E. beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 30. A single westbound left lane closure and 60 km/hr speed reduction will be in place 24/7 and multiple westbound lane closures will occur during evenings and weekends. Eastbound lane closures will no longer be required. This work will continue throughout the month of April and accommodates water services utility work.

4 Street S.E. is reduced to one lane in each direction between 9 Avenue S.E. and 8 Avenue S.E. until September 30. This closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the +60 pedestrian bridge at the National Music Centre.

Southwest

NEW: Southbound 12 Street S.W. between 15 Avenue S.W. and 16 Avenue S.W. is completely closed to traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 16. This closure will remain in place until 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 8 and accommodates Enmax utility work.

Spruce Drive S.W. will be completely closed between Cedar Crescent S.W. and Hemlock Crescent S.W. between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16. This closure accommodates utility work, the cycle track on Spruce Drive S.W. will remain open.

Southbound 1 Street S.W. will be reduced to one lane between 9 Avenue S.W. and 10 Avenue S.W. starting Sunday, January 25 to accommodate the 1 Street S.W. underpass enhancement project. At the same time the sidewalk on southbound 1 Street S.W. will be closed. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the east side of 1 Street S.W. These closures will be in place until the work on the west side of the underpass is complete.
