Calgary road closures - April 10, 2014

Northeast

The right lane on northbound 56 Street N.E. will be closed at 28 Avenue N.E. from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until Wednesday, April 16 due to utility work.

Northwest

NEW: 20 Avenue N.W. will be closed between 7 Street N.W. and 8 Street N.W. from 6 p.m. on Friday, April 11 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 due to utility work.

NEW: 24 Avenue N.W. will be closed between 18 Street N.W. and 19 Street N.W. from 9 a.m. on Friday, April 11 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 due to utility work.

Eastbound McKnight Boulevard will be reduced to one lane at 4 Street N.W. from 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 to 5 a.m. on Friday, April 11 due to utility work.

Memorial Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Crowchild Trail and 16 Street N.W. until Thursday, May 15 due to riverbank restoration. On weekdays lane restrictions will be in effect daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on weekends daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Southeast

NEW: There will be various lane closures at 19 Avenue S.E. and 44 Street S.E. until 7 p.m. Saturday, April 12 due to a water main break. Local access will be maintained but motorists are advised to avoid the area and follow detours.

There will be various lane closures at 11 Avenue S.E. and Olympic Way from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 and Friday, April 11 due to utility work.

Eastbound 17 Avenue S.E. will be reduced to one lane between 38 Street S.E. and 39 Street S.E. from 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 to 6 a.m. on Friday, April 11 due to construction. Left turns from westbound 17 Avenue to southbound 38 Street S.E. will be restricted at this time

The speed on Blackfoot Trail will be reduced to 60 km/h at 53 Avenue S.E. until mid-April due to construction. In addition, there will be continued stages of construction along 53 Avenue S.E. between Blackfoot Trail and 2 Street S.E until mid-April due to utility work.

Southwest

NEW: Eastbound 17 Avenue S.W. will be closed east of Richmond Road until 5 a.m. on Friday, April 11 due to emergency utility work. At the same time westbound 17 Ave will be reduced to one lane east of Richmond Road. Please follow detours.

NEW: 17 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Richmond Road from 5 a.m. on Friday, April 11 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 due to emergency utility work.

NEW: Elbow Drive S.W. will be closed between 87 Avenue S.W. and 89 Avenue S.W. from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, April 11 due to construction.

26 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 18 Street S.W. and 17A Street S.W. from 8 a.m. on Thursday, April 10 to 3 p.m. on Friday, April 11 due to construction.

2 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 2 Street and 3 Street S.W. from Sunday, April 6 at 6 p.m. until July 3 at 6 p.m.

The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.

The right lane on 5 Avenue S.W. will be closed between Centre Street and 1 Street S.W. from until Wednesday, April 30. During morning and evening peak hours this lane will be used for pedestrians while work is being done on the sidewalk.
