Bullet found in wall of home

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating after a bullet was found in the exterior wall of a home in southwest Calgary.

At approximately noon on Sunday, Feb 24, 2013, the Calgary Police Service received a report that a bullet was found in the wall of a residence in the 4300 block of Elbow Drive S.W.

One bullet was located by officer in an exterior wall of the kitchen area. The bullet was removed by the CPS Forensic Crime Scenes Unit, and is currently being examined. No other bullets were found.

A resident of the home confirmed they had heard two loud noises around 1:30 a.m. that morning.

Officers conducted neighbourhood inquiries in the area, and located at least two other people who heard loud bangs at approximately 1:30 a.m. At the time, residents did not see any suspicious people or vehicles.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to this incident. At this time there is no reason to believe the home was targeted.
