BRT Route 302 Extended to South Health Campus

Starting Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, Route 302 - BRT Southeast / Downtown will be extended to the new south hospital - South Health Campus located on Seton Boulevard SE.

Also on December 2, the Downtown westbound routing for Route 302 will be changed from 4 Avenue to 6 Avenue to improve travel time for customers.

“We’re very pleased to be able to extend this BRT service to the new hospital and move to a faster routing in the downtown,” said Neil McKendrick, Manger of Transit Planning. “The new service will greatly improve transit access for many of the hospital's employees and southeast residents."

Route 302 service currently extends only as far as McKenzie Towne but planning for this extension has been underway since the southeast BRT started in August 2009. The 52 Street SE connection from Stoney Trail to Seton Boulevard was completed just recently which enabled Calgary Transit to schedule the service extension.

The cost for the route extension was already budgeted for in 2013.  Information about all transit services to the new South Health Campus can be found on the Calgary Transit web page at: http://www.calgarytransit.com/pdf/riders_guide_shc.pdf.
