Autopsy completed in suspicious death

An autopsy has been completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and at this time the manner of death has not been confirmed. Further tests results are pending.

The identity of the victim will not be released.

Investigators have located and are currently speaking to Joseph Jean Nathan FORTIER, 43, of Calgary.   

The Calgary Police Service would like to thank the public and media for their assistance.

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a suspicious death in the southeast.

At approximately 12 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, officers were called to a hotel in the 1800 block of 50 Street S.E. after staff found a deceased woman in a room.

It is believed the death is suspicious in nature and an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

Investigators are looking to speak to a man they believe may have information that is critical to this investigation. Joseph Jean Nathan FORTIER, 43, of Calgary, is described as an Aboriginal male, 5’9” tall, approximately 130 lbs. with a shaved head and a soul patch (slight beard on his chin). He goes by the name Nathan FORTIER.
