2014 Chief's Awards Gala

The Calgary Police Service Chief’s Awards Gala 2014 will take place tonight, Wednesday, May 28, 2014, to honour people who have gone to extraordinary measures to save lives and better our community.

Chief Rick Hanson will be presenting awards to 81 people (17 citizens from Calgary, 1 citizen from Edmonton, 1 citizen from Grand Prairie, 3 Calgary Firefighters, 1 member of Public Safety Communications, 1 member of Edmonton Police Service and 57 members of Calgary Police Service) at the Gala.

Stories range from civilians apprehending armed bank robbers, to saving people from drowning either during the flood or from breaking through ice-covered bodies of water. All of the award recipients have gone above and beyond to assist those in need and make Calgary a stronger community.
