17 Avenue Restricted at 14 Street SW Due to Water Main Break
On Monday, April 15, between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. a single lane of westbound 17 Avenue east of 15 Street S.W. will be open for an eastbound lane reversal.
At 9 a.m. that same morning, 17 Avenue west of 14 Street S.W. will be closed allowing Water Services to complete their work. If they are still on site at 3 p.m., one westbound lane will be open for the evening rush hour between 3 and 7 p.m.
Alternate routes are 15 Street to 16 Avenue S.W. Major delays are expected, and motorists are advised to consider alternate routes.
The City has positioned "variable message boards" with the following information:

- northbound Crowchild Trail motorists are being advised to use 33 Avenue or Bow Trail
- on southbound Crowchild Trail, south of Bow Trail, motorists are being asked to use 33 Avenue S.W.
- motorists on southbound Crowchild Trail at Kensington Road are being asked to use Bow Trail or Memorial Drive.
