YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre – Teaching kids about the issues; helping them make good decisions!

Come visit YouthLink Calgary Police Interpretive Centre at the Calgary Police Foundation “Big Event” tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at CPS Headquarters, 5111-47 St. N.E.

YouthLink teaches kids about issues they will face as they grow up and how to make good decisions. Targeting the 10 to 14 year old age bracket, YouthLink addresses such issues as bullying, gangs, drugs, online safety and healthy relationships in a fun and interactive way. YouthLink also teaches kids about forensics and how science is used to help solve crimes.

The other primary role of YouthLink is that of the Calgary Police Service’s archives and museum. Closed due to last year’s flood, YouthLink is in the process of building a new, technologically advanced centre at Police Headquarters. This new centre is scheduled to open in 2015. During the closure of their physical location, YouthLink continues to do its work via outreach programs.

YouthLink Calgary is extremely grateful to the Calgary Police Foundation and all of their donors for funding their capital campaign.

It is everyone’s responsibility to keep our kids safe; YouthLink is one link in helping to achieve this goal.
