Workshop - Managing Graffiti

The Federation of Calgary Communities and the Calgary Police Service invite Calgarians to learn more about preventing and managing graffiti in their communities.
 
Graffiti vandalism is not a victimless crime. It is defined as any figures, letters, drawings or stickers that are applied, scribbled, scratched, etched, sprayed or attached to the surface of any premises, structure or other property without previous permission. Graffiti affects everyone. It lowers property values and costs tax payers millions of dollars annually to remove.
 
As part of the Partners in Crime Prevention Workshop Series, the Managing Graffiti workshop takes place Thursday, April 3, 2014, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association, 1320 5 Ave. N.W.  
 
Calgary Police Service Graffiti Co-ordinator Dave Ladic will discuss the issue of graffiti, how communities can prevent it, and what can be done when private and public property is the target of graffiti. There will be lots of opportunity for questions from workshop participants.
