Weekend stabbing victim identified & seeking public assistance

The identity of a man killed on the weekend has been confirmed.

 

At approximately 10:25 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, police were called to the 3900 block of 17 Avenue S.E., for reports of an injured man. The man was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013.

 

An autopsy has confirmed that John MACPHERSON, 38, of Calgary, died as a result of a stabbing.

 

Judah Diew, LONG, 34, of Calgary, has been charged with one count of manslaughter.

 

Investigators have released a picture, hoping to identify a man who is believed to have knowledge of the events that took place. He is described as a black male, approximately 6’ 2” tall and was wearing blue jeans and a black puffer jacket. It is not known at this time what role he played in the incident, if any.
