Warrants issued for homicide suspect

An arrest warrant has been issued in relation to the death of a woman in her Ranchlands home.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, police were called to the 0-100 block of Ranchlands Bay N.W., for reports of a suspicious death. Upon arrival a woman was found deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified as Christa CACHENE, 26, of Calgary.

It is believed that a party was hosted at the residence on Saturday evening and that eight to ten individuals were in attendance. Police believe CACHENE died early Sunday morning, after the party, as a result of a vicious beating.

Isaiah Riel RIDER, 18, of Calgary, is now wanted for second-degree murder in relation to the death of CACHENE, as well as unrelated warrants for assault and breach of a conditional sentence order. He is described as an Aboriginal male, approximately 6’2” tall, 155 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

RIDER is believed to be in the greater Calgary area or Southern Alberta‎.
