Warrant issued – homicide charge

A Calgary man is wanted on a warrant in relation to a homicide that took place in early 2012.

On Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, 911 was called after a man was seen laying on the ground in front of a residence in the 2100 block of 16 Street S.W.             

He was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.

On Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, he died in hospital.

The deceased was identified as Gatleak THOR METKURJOCK, 20, of Calgary. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma.

This is not believed to have been a random incident.

Yesterday, Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, officers arrested a 19-year-old man without incident. He has since been charged with one count of second-degree murder.

The accused was under 18 at the time of the incident, and cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Today, Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Anthony Ambrose BROTHERS, 21, of Calgary.

BROTHERS is wanted on one count of second-degree murder.

He is described as Aboriginal, 5’ 9” tall, approximately 190 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair. A photo has been posted on The City of Calgary Newsroom.
