Vehicle vs Motorcycle collision - Old Banff Coach Rd X Patterson Blvd SW
At approximately 14:10hrs on Wednesday August 12th 2015, a fatal motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Old Banff Coach Road and Patterson Boulevard SW, between an SUV and a Motorcycle.
A Silver Harley Davidson motor cycle operated by a 53 year old male was travelling westbound on Old Banff Coach Road towards the intersection with Patterson Boulevard.
As the motorcycle entered the intersection, a Green Subaru Forester operated by a 66 year old female, made a left turn from eastbound Old Banff Coach Road to Patterson Boulevard, into the path of the Motorcycle.
The motor cycle rider was transported to the Foothills Hospital with serious life threatening injuries and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The female driver of the Forester sustained minor injuries.
Excessive speed is not believed to be a factor in this collision. Alcohol or Drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision.
