Updated Road Closures Due to Fatal Pedestrian Collision

Macleod Trail S.W. will remain open, however 42 Avenue S.W. east of Macleod Trail to the train tracks will remain closed until the investigation into the fatal pedestrian collision has been completed.

Fatal Pedestrian Collision

The Calgary Police Service is currently investigating a fatal injury collision between a car and a pedestrian.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., police were called to the 4200 block of Macleod Trail south, for reports of a collision. Upon arrival emergency crews discovered a female victim pinned under a vehicle. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody.

Roads in the area will be shut down until the investigation has been completed. Drivers are asked to find alternative routes for the rush hour commute.
