Update: Fatal Shooting

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit continues to investigate a fatal shooting in the downtown area.

At approximately 8:45 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, emergency crews responded to the 1900 block of 5A Street S.W., for reports of gunshots.

When officers arrived, they found one man deceased, while two others – a man and a woman, both 22 - were suffering wounds as a result of the shooting.

The woman is currently in critical unstable condition, while the injured man is stable. He is not co-operating with investigators. Both are from the Lower Mainland in British Columbia.

The victim in this case has been identified as Trevor James MUNRO, 22, of Surrey, B.C.

Investigators do not believe this was a random incident.

The offender in this case fled the scene and his whereabouts are unknown. This is Calgary’s 20^th homicide of 2013.
