Update #6 - Missing persons investigation
A man taken in for questioning from Airdrie in relation to the missing persons investigation has been released from police custody.
He remains a person of interest and several police units will continue to search a residence connected to him on the outskirts of Airdrie.
Given the size of the property, this search is likely to continue throughout the day and into tomorrow.
Police are still looking to determine if the vehicle seized at that location, the property, or the man taken in for questioning, are linked to the investigation.
Police continue to seek public assistance and would like to hear from anyone who has any information regarding the whereabouts of Nathan O'Brien and Kathryn and Alvin Liknes.
Police would also like to hear from anyone who recognizes the vehicle that was captured on CCTV in the area of where the family went missing.
The Amber Alert remains in place and continues to provide police with tips from the public.
As no charges have been laid in connection to this file, police will not name the individual that was taken in for questioning or release further information that could identify him.
No further details of the investigation are available at this time and as such, no media availability has been set.
