Two charged in relation to car prowlings and break and enters

The Calgary Police Service has charged two individuals with a number of offences believed to be related to multiple break and enters and car prowlings in the city. 

On Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at approximately 8 a.m., District 8 officers spotted a stolen vehicle in the community of Chaparral Valley. Officers observed the vehicle travelling south on Highway 2, out of city limits. With the assistance of the RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs, officers conducted a traffic stop where two suspects were taken into custody.

Upon further investigation, members of the District 8 Operations Team were able to connect the suspects to seven previously reported events, including car prowling and break and enter incidents. Upon the execution of five search warrants, a total of 18 charges were laid.

Clayton Ronald HOLMES, 26, of Calgary, has been charged with:

  • One count of possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • One count of possession of a stolen credit card
  • Four counts of breach of a recognizance

Savanna DOUGLASS, 33, of Calgary, has been charged with:

  • One count of possession of stolen property over $5,000
  • Three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • One count of possession of a stolen credit card
  • Three counts of identity theft
  • Two counts of breach of a recognizance

HOLMES and DOUGLASS remain in custody and will next appear in court on Friday, July 24, 2015.
