Two Charged in Connection with Sexual Assault

Two men have now been charged in connection with a kidnapping and sexual assault over the weekend.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, a 17-year-old girl was in the community of Taradale when she was approached by two men. The men allegedly attacked the teenager and dragged her into a nearby alley where she was sexually assaulted.

The suspects then forced the victim to a Martindale home where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted before being able to escape the home on Saturday morning, Nov. 15, 2014.

Police were called at approximately 9 a.m., Saturday, and investigators were able to identify the home and arrange for warrants in the case. On Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, three men from the home were taken into custody.

Today, Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, investigators charged two of the men in connection with the crime.

Corey George MANYSHOTS, 25, and Cody George MANYSHOTS, 21, have each been charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm, assault causing bodily harm, kidnapping, uttering threats and robbery.

They are scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court this morning.

A third man arrested at the home has been released without charge, however, the investigation is continuing.
