Two arrested in Radisson break and enters

Two men have been arrested in separate operations targeting property related crime in the Radisson area.

Following an increase in reports of break and enters into residences, garages, industrial business compounds and construction areas, the District 4 Break and Enter Team and the District Operations Team were brought in to investigate.   Thieves had stolen jewelry, electronics, tools, scrap metal, copper wire and other items that are easily sold or pawned.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, officers observed a suspicious person in the 600 block of Radcliffe Road S.E. He was found to have items from a break and enter that had just occurred at a residence in the area in his possession.

Cody LAROCQUE, 25, has been charged with break and enter to commit an offense, possession of break and enter tools and failing to comply with a court order.

The investigation continues and further charges are expected to be laid.

That same day following the arrest of LAROCQUE, members of the District 4 Break and Enter Team went to a recently targeted area within the Radisson neighbourhood. Within 15 minutes of being there, they spotted a suspicious person. He was observed committing a garage break and enter in the area of 1600 block of Radisson Drive S.E. and was taken into custody after a short foot chase.

Property was recovered from a green space the man fled through and returned to the owner of the garage.

Dean GALLANT, 40, has been charged with break and enter to commit an offense and three outstanding criminal code warrants.

The investigation continues and further charges are expected to be laid.

Investigators do not believe the two suspects were working together. It is believed that these offenses were committed in a effort to obtain items that could be liquidated for drugs, more specifically fentanyl.
