The Big Event - Free family fun day

Calgarians are invited to The Big Event today, Saturday, June 14, 2014, a free family fun day in support of The Calgary Police Foundation.

Families with children of all ages will be able to enjoy live entertainment, bouncy castles, trampolines, scavenger hunts, face painting and ball hockey, among other interactive activities.

Spend your afternoon getting a closer look at how police officers use the latest technology to keep our communities safe. More than 20 Calgary Police Service units will be featured, including the K9 Unit, Mounted Unit, Forensics, TAC Team, and a special landing by HAWCS helicopter at noon.

When:  Saturday, June, 14, 2014, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Calgary Police Service Westwinds Campus, 5111 47 St. N.E.

Media are invited to attend as Police Chief Rick Hanson and Calgary Police Foundation Executive Director Janet Pieschel will be available for comment after the HAWCS landing. The availability will take place at the main information tent at approximately 12:30 p.m.
