Suspicious Death Investigation

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is currently investigating a suspicious death in the city's southwest.

Today, Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of Holy Cross Lane S.W., for a report of a women in medical distress. When emergency crews arrived, they found a woman in her 40s dead on scene. 

A man was taken into custody without incident. He is currently in police custody and speaking with investigators.

The victim and the person in custody are known to each other and this is not considered a random incident.

An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 15, 2014. Further details are expected to be released at that time.
