Suspected Domestic-Related Homicide

The Calgary Police Service is currently on scene of a suspected domestic-related homicide.

 

At approximately 1:20 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, police responded to a check on welfare call to a home in the 0-100 block of Ranchridge Drive N.W. Officers entered the home and discovered a deceased female. A male was arrested at the home without incident and is currently being interviewed by investigators. Charges have not been laid at this time.

 

Detectives with the Service’s Homicide Unit are working to confirm the identity of the victim and determine her connection to the person in custody.

 

An autopsy will need to be completed before the victim’s name is released. Notifying next of kin is also a priority at this time.
