Shooting Incident

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance following a shooting incident in the city’s northeast.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, two people were in a vehicle in a parking lot of a local gas station at 2520 52 St. N.E., when they were shot at.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old man, sustained wounds to his arm. His passenger was uninjured. The victim was able to drive himself to a nearby hospital where he was treated and released.

This is believed to be a targeted incident and not random in nature.

At least one shot entered the nearby grocery store. No one was injured in the store, however, the time, location and brazenness of this incident is of major concern to the Service. The store was extremely busy at the time of the shooting and members of the public were placed at great risk by the offender(s).

CCTV from the area has been seized and is currently being reviewed.

The CPS Guns and Gangs Unit is leading this investigation and are working to determine a motive for the shooting and whether it’s connected to other recent violent incidents in the area. The Service believes members of the community have information that will assist in finding the person(s) responsible and preventing further incidents of violence.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this case to call 403-266-1234 or provide information anonymously to Crime Stoppers using any of the following methods:
