Sexual Assault Investigation

The Calgary Police Service is investigating a sexual assault that occurred in the city early this morning.

Just before 4 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013, a woman was walking in the area of 3100 block of 17 Avenue S.E., when a male driving a beige, Ford Mercury-type car pulled up alongside her. The male spoke to the victim, and then pulled the woman into his vehicle.

The man then drove to a park in the 3600 block of 8 Avenue S.E., where he physically and sexually assaulted the woman.

The man is described as having a dark complexion, roughly 30 years old, 5’6” tall, with a thin build and short curly “afro”-style hair. He was wearing plaid shorts and a light-coloured T-shirt.
