Serious Injury Collision

On 2015/09/26 at approximately 2020 hours, a two vehicle collision occurred in the intersection of 68th Street and Mcknight Blvd N.E.  A motocycle was northbound on 68 Street crossing through McKnight Blvd when it struck a car.  The car had been travelling southbound 68th Street and was attempting to turn eastbound onto McKnight Blvd across the path of the northbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider was thrown from the motorcycle and traveled approximately 18 meters before coming to rest; he was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition with significant life-altering injuries.  The rider was wearing an appropriate helmet.  The driver of the car was uninjured.  Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision; however speed is being investigated as a contributing factor.
