Serious Injury Collision Investigation

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance for information related to a serious injury collision that occurred last night.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015, a 2003 BMW 540i car was driving southbound on Crowchild Trail S.W. approaching the 50 Avenue interchange when it lost control and went off the road. The car ended up airborne, rolling and finally came to a rest right-side up on the boulevard just off Crowchild Trail.

There were four occupants in the vehicle; a 21-year-old male driver, a female and two male passengers, all in their 20s.

The driver and one of the male passengers were thrown from the vehicle and received major injuries. The two remaining passengers were wearing their seatbelts and remained in the vehicle, but were also transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The CPS Traffic Unit continues to investigate, however, it appears that speed and alcohol were both factors in this collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit (403-567-4000), or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
