Serious injury collision

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate a single vehicle collision that took place early this morning.

At approximately 2 a.m. today, Wednesday, Apr. 16, 2014, a 1999 Infiniti G20 exited Stoney Trail onto Harvest Hills Blvd N.W., drifting close to the curb. The driver made two sharp turns, losing control and ending up on the grass median. The vehicle struck a tree causing it to roll over and come to  rest on its roof in the northbound lane of Harvest Hills Blvd.

The driver, a 20-year-old female was not wearing a seatbelt, causing her to be ejected from the vehicle. She sustained critical head and neck injuries.

Alcohol, speed and driver error are currently being investigated.
