Serious Injury Collision
The Calgary Police Service Traffic Section is investigating a collision that occurred in the city’s northeast at approximately 7 a.m., this morning, Monday, July 14, 2014.
A 50-year-old man was operating a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Aero Drive N.E., approaching the intersection at Aero Crescent N.E. At the same time, a 20-year-old man was operating a 2000 Honda Accord eastbound on Aero Drive N.E., approaching the same intersection. This vehicle made a left-hand turn across the path of the oncoming motorcycle.
The motorcycle collided almost head-on with the Honda Accord and the driver was thrown from his motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle received critical injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the Honda Accord did not sustain any injuries.
