Serious Assault in Royal Oak

At 0145 hours on Sunday 06Jan2013 the Calgary Police Service responded to an assault complaint in the 0 to 100 block of Royal Oak Drive NW. When officers arrived they discovered a male (approx. 60 years of age) in critical / life threatening condition. The victim was transported to a local area hospital by EMS. His condition has not improved.

 

A male, believed to be in his forties, was taken into custody from the residence. While this event does not appear to be random, the relationship between the suspect and the offender is unknown at this time.  Due to the seriousness of the injuries the Homicide Unit is handling this investigation.
