Seizure of Marijuana from Vehicle

The Calgary Police Service seized almost seven kilograms of marijuana after a concerned citizen reported a suspicious vehicle.

At approximately 8:45 a.m., on Friday, June 27, 2014, officers initiated a traffic stop after a passerby reported a vehicle being driving in an erratic manner, in the area of Anderson Road and 24 Street S.W.

After stopping the vehicle, officers discovered 6.6 kilograms of marijuana inside, worth almost $100,000.

The 32-year-old male driver was taken into custody. There were no other occupants of the vehicle.

The investigation is continuing, with possible charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
