Seeking public assistance – Children injured in morning hit-and-run

The Calgary Police Service continues to investigate an early morning hit-and-run that sent two children to hospital.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., today, Friday, Nov. 20, 2015, three children were crossing the intersection at Bermondsey Way and Berkley Drive N.W. in an unmarked crosswalk.

A northbound vehicle on Bermondsey Way failed to stop at a stop sign and struck two of the children, a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy. The third child, the brother of the girl, avoided being struck by the vehicle.

The children believe the vehicle drove over the girl.

The boy and girl were taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition. Their injuries consist of broken bones and bruising.

The vehicle is believed to be a white Dodge Ram truck or similar, which may have had ladders in the bed of the truck.

Investigators are urging the driver to contact police. Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
