Seeking public assistance – assault on youth

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to identify a group of individuals believed to be involved in an assault.

On the evening of Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, a male youth attended a house party with friends at a residence in the 0 to 100 block of Hamptons Circle N.W. At approximately 12:30 a.m., on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, the youth accompanied a friend to her home in the area.

While en route back to the house party, the youth was approached by a group of four to six males. The group confronted the youth and assaulted him, leaving the victim unconscious on the ground. It is believed the attack was hate/bias motivated.

The victim came to after an unknown amount of time and was able to obtain help from a resident in the 200 block of Hamptons Terrace N.W., who contacted 9-1-1. Police attended and EMS transported the victim to hospital in stable condition.

The offenders are described as a group of four to six males. The group included both Caucasian and black individuals believed to be between the ages of 15 and 20. It is believed the offenders may have attended the same house party as the victim earlier in the evening.
